This is easily one of my favorite Sporkman strips ever. It is, of course, inspired by Final Fantasy VI (and/or III, depending on how anal you are). I always thought the idea of a ninja dog was wicked cool and, naturally, so does Sporkman. Who could ask for a better sidekick? This strip is also an homage to an old Nintendo Power article in which they listed the top fifty games of all time (up to the early N64 era). In their write-up for Final Fantasy III (yes, III dammit, I'm a American!), they mentioned that III was better than II (and/or IV) not just because of opera, but because of Interceptor the Wonder Dog. That turn of phrase stuck in my mind for years until I stuck it into this strip.
