Sporkman's newfound weapon in this series of comics was inspired by a Zelda clone I was creating a couple year earlier. In it, a little pixelized Sporkman thwarted evil with the Spatula of Power. The game never went anywhere, but that bit of it was still stuck in my head when I started drawing these strips.
