A Fate Precisely Like Death!

Date: February 22, 2005

Chapter: More One Shot Wonders

Characters: Death, Sporkman

I knew going into this project, back in 2004, that the strips taking place in 2000/2001 would have to end with Sporkman's inevitable demise, if only to maintain continuity with my other comic at the time, "Basil Flint P.I." In "Flint," Sporkman dying was part of Amanda's backstory, so it still had to happen in some form. Even so, that didn't mean I had to take it even remotely seriously.

As a bonus, here's an alternate punchline I had written in the margin of this strip's original artwork. I think it might actually be funnier than the punchline I ended up with.

Remastered on June 6th, 2013

About The Comic

Classic Sporkman is a comic by Jodie Troutman, beginning in 2004 as a throwaway reboot of the titular character she created in high school. It's extremely silly, frequently stupid, and the comic's creator absolutely loves it. She hopes you do too. For more comics by Jodie, visit longtalljodie.com!
