Date: June 29, 2005

Label: Deleted

Chapter: The Inevitable Death of Sporkman

Characters: Amanda, Sporkman

After the previous strip, it would be almost four months before I'd draw another Sporkman comic. I'm not sure I was burnt out or just busy elsewhere, but I hit a wall. Sometime during those four months, I determined that - if I was to keep drawing little Sporkman comics - I'd have to lose the flashback structure. I need to find a way to get Sporkman into the present.

The solution was simple enough. In the original, ever-so-horrible Sporkman series from 2000 and 2001, our hero was basically killed. In this new series, I decided to just kill him again! Hey, if the chibi strips were supposed to "replace" the old series, then he had to die sometime anyway, right?

Stylistically, the art evolved a little bit during the hiatus, but maybe not enough to be noticeable in these remastered versions.

The strip above is actually the second version of this strip I drew. I discovered the original penciled version in my archives a couple months ago. It doesn't have any dialog, so I couldn't remaster it, but here's the raw artwork I scanned in.

Remastered on July 31st, 2013

About The Comic

Classic Sporkman is a comic by Jodie Troutman, beginning in 2004 as a throwaway reboot of the titular character she created in high school. It's extremely silly, frequently stupid, and the comic's creator absolutely loves it. She hopes you do too. For more comics by Jodie, visit longtalljodie.com!
