This strip was created for a very specific reason, beyond "I think it's really funny." It was actually written to create a massive gap in Sporkman's personal timeline, so that I could explain away the existence of Silver Age Sporkman. As Old Sporkman says, he's been gone for almost twenty years; in truth, he was shot back to January 1996, and presumably had all sorts of little adventures I'll never bother to draw.
